The Temple of Zeus at Euromos, south of Izmir and Ephesus on the road south toward Bodrum in Turkey’s Aegean region, looks like a Hollywood set for a movie about classical Greece.
On your holiday in Turkey, you won’t find a finer example of a classical temple in a classical setting: surrounded by ancient olive trees and fragrant pines.
Stop for a half hour to admire the scene. If you have a bit more time, climb into the surrounding hills in search of the many other ruins remaining from a once-thriving classical city.
