Where is Cappadocia?
The name of the country resounds with anyone who has read the Bible’s New Testament. Peter wrote an epistle to “the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,” all of which are in present-day Turkey.
Today the region is defined roughly as being bounded by the cities of Kırşehir, Kayseri, Niğde and Aksaray, with Nevşehir at its center.
What’s to see here? The incredible moonscape volcanic terrain. Ancient painted cave-churches. Vineyards growing grapes in the mineral-rich soil.
When you travel to Turkey, don’t miss it!
