Gümüşlük is a charming seaside village on the western shore of the Bodrum peninsula (). It’s known for being a fishing village, with waterfront restaurants, spectacular sunsets, and ruins of ancient Myndos littered in the pristine little bays.
Attractions
It’s a special place 21km (13 miles) away from Bodrum’s city center. To get the full experience, Turkey Travel Planner recommends spending a few days here visiting Gümüşlük Limanı Plajı for a day at the beach, a waterfront restaurant for a seafood dinner, and Turgutreis Merkez Cami mosque.
Gümüşlük Limanı Plajı is a lovely beach just near the waterfront restaurants. Travelers can enjoy a day in the sun and come back for a nice dinner afterwards. The water is clear and you can easily spot groups of small fish swimming around.
Furthermore, if these waterfront restaurants interest you, you’ll want to call ahead of time to make a reservation. Sunset is the busiest time of day where crowds of people look for the best place to visit. Siesta Restaurant is one of the top-rated places for fresh seafood and a nice glass of wine. Another option is coming for lunch instead and enjoying the daylight scenery while avoiding the crowds.

However, you may not be dropped off directly in front of your hotel, which may require you to lug your luggage over there once you reach the closest point. The mini buses travel to and from Bodrum‘s Otogar all day until the late hours. If you arrive by car, you’ll be required to park at a pay lot, just inland from the bay and the restaurants.
Overall
If you’re looking for a quieter and relaxed vacation, Gümüşlük is the place to be. The charming atmosphere is what makes this seaside village appealing to visitors. Additionally, it’s far away enough from Bodrum where you won’t be woken up by the lively nightlife, yet, it’s also close enough to visit and also take day trips around the Bodrum Peninsula. The waterfront restaurants are one of Gümüşlük’s biggest attractions which draws hundreds of visitors a day over the summer. Yalıkavak is also nearby where you can spend the day lounging at one of their stunning beach clubs.
