Beaches in Yalıkavak, Bodrum

Last Updated on July 18, 2022

Yalıkavak has a number of good beaches, starting with the one coarse-sand-and-pebble beach right in the town center north of the Çarşı (Bazaar) along Plaj Caddesi(Beach Avenue; map).

Along the beach are lounge chairs, easy chairs, beach umbrellas, and other beach facilities. These belong to individual hotels, cafés, bars and restaurants. Some charge a fee for their use. For others, you may use them if you patronize the businesses (that is, buy some drinks, snacks, meals, hotel room, etc.)

Next is Tilkicik Beach to the northeast on the southern shore of Tilkicik Bay. Most of the swimming beaches are backed by hotels, to which you can pay a small fee for entry to their beaches.

Dodo Beach, 3 km (2 miles) north of the Çarşı on the eastern shore of the Küdür Peninsula, is reachable by car or taxi. There’s a public beach (Halk Plajı) here with no facilities, but free entry; and the private Dodo Beach Club for which you must pay an entry fee to use the facilities.

Xuma Beach, on the southern shore of the Küdür Peninsula 4 km (2.5 miles) northwest of the Çarşı, is a private facility for which payment of an entry fee is required. It’s worth the price for the facilities and the panoramic views of the bay, the harbor, and the town of Yalıkavak.

Gündoğan, 8 km (5 miles) northeast of Yalıkavak, has its own beaches, good for a change of scene. More…
