The Stonecutter’s Suite at the Esbelli Evi cave inn in Ürgüp, Cappadocia, is perfect for a couple wanting plenty of atmosphere and a private garden and terrace.
Mr Süha Ersöz, owner of Esbelli Evi, planned the Stonecutter’s Suite with privacy in mind.
“It’s a stone building with arched-ceiling rooms, its own small lawn and flower gardens, terrace and private entrance. It’s really more like a separate villa, but with the convenience of an underground passage right to the main Esbelli Evi building,” Süha says.
The suite has a salon/living room with TV; laptop computer for email, Skype and web-surfing; and Wifi Internet.
The kitchenette, for preparing drinks and snacks (not meals), has a full-sized refrigerator filled with beverages (including beer, spring water, and Cappadocian wines), a counter and sink of beautiful local travertine stone, microwave oven, and electric kettle with supplies for making coffee and tea.
The bedroom has a stone arch ceiling, lots of nice carved-stone detail, super-comfortable king-sized bed with soft sheets and feather pillows, antique wardrobe, vanity, bedside tables and hope chest.
A stone-lined passage with more closet space leads to the large bathroom with double shower, big clawfoot bathtub, mood lighting, and two windows to let the sun stream in.
Wireless Internet is available throughout the suite.
Esbelli Evi suite-dwellers have full access to all the other pleasures of Esbelli Evi, including the Self-serve Café-bar, and a full Turkish breakfast included in the rates.
The Esbelli Evi suites are among the most charming and satisfying places to stay in Cappadocia, but for all its luxury, the Esbelli suite is reasonably priced, especially for families that might otherwise need to reserve two rooms.
