Serinn House, Ürgüp, Cappadocia

Last Updated on August 11, 2022

Everyone wants to stay in a cave hotel in Cappadocia, and it's obvious why: the cool, quiet atmosphere, the traditional ambience and feeling of living in history.

The six small, cheerful Serinn House in Ürgüp gives you all this, but with a difference. Unlike most Cappadocian cave rooms, which are decorated with traditional furniture, antiques and handicrafts, the six rooms at the Serinn House are decorated in an appealing, understated modern style. (Read this about staying in a cave room.)

Blond wood and large swatches of color brighten and enliven the characteristically calm atmosphere of the cave rooms here. The private bathrooms are sleek and up-to-the-minute, with showers in all, and tubs in most.

The reading lights are good (a feature missing in many Turkish hotels, even very expensive ones).

Serinn House owner Ms Eren Serpen learned about hospitality working in mall hotels, then had a career with British Airways in London and Rome before deciding to open her own small inn in Cappadocia. She speaks Turkish, English and Italian, and offers a nice ambience for all.

So this is the place to enjoy a different ambience in Cappadocian cave rooms, and a warm welcome from Ms Serpen.

Serinn House is located in the quiet Esbellineighborhood of Ürgüp, about one km uphill from the town center. It's a pleasant 15-minute walk to town downhill. To come back to the inn, you may prefer a taxi.

When you contact Ms Serpen at Serinn House, please mention champspinco.com. Here's why. In fact, Eren Hanım has told me she will offer special advantages to visitors from TTP—so let her know how you found Serinn.
