Konya‘s Hotel Balıkçılar has been a fixture right across the street from the Selimiye Mosque and the Mevlana Museum for decades.
There is no better place to stay in Konya in regard to location, as the Mevlana Museum is Konya‘s prime sight. (The nearby Hotel Rumicomes close, however.)
Another advantage—for those who consume alcoholic beverages, at least—is that the Hotel Balıkçılar serves alcoholic beverages, one of few Konya hotels to do so.
Guest rooms at the Balıkçılar are comfortable enough, but prices are a bit high for what you receive in your room. The price premium is because of the hotel’s supremely convenient location, which really couldn’t be much better.
There is limited parking in front of the hotel, and a large multi-level parking garage nearby.
The hotel’s name is an odd one for land-locked Konya: it means “Fishermen’s Hotel.”
