Gallipoli Battlefields Loop Road

Last Updated on May 7, 2019

Several of the most significant battle sites on the central Gallipoli Peninsula are accessed by a one-way loop road() that starts at Kabatepe Feribot İskelesi and winds through the hills past Quinn’s PostJohnston’s JollyBaby 700Lone Pine (Kanlı Sırt), and Chunuk BairConkbayırı).

The road ends at the Kabatepe Çanakkale Epic Presentation Center, 1 km east (inland) from the Kabatepe Feribot İskelesi.

Because the road is one-way, there’s no turning back once you start along it. The full circuit takes at least one hour, assuming you will stop here and there to visit some of the sites and enjoy the panoramic views.

The route is hilly and curvy, but there is not much traffic except on special commemoration dates.

Most signs have been erected by the Turkish Gallipoli National Historic Park authorities, and are in Turkish. Fewer signs, erected by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, mark sites of greater interest to visitors from Commonwealth countries.
