8-Day Tours of Turkey

Last Updated on June 13, 2022

If you plan it just right, an 8-day trip to Turkey can be fun and fulfilling, and allows you to see Turkey's top sights in the shortest possible time.

What's an 8-Day (7-Night) Tour?

—It starts in Istanbul on the day you arrive in Turkey. Because tour participants arrive at different times of day, Day 1 is simply for arrival, transfer to your Istanbul hotel, getting settled, and recovering from your flight. If you arrive in the morning or afternoon, you'll have some time for a walk to get acquainted with the city a bit.

—The tour visits the top three destinations most travelers want to visit on a first trip to Turkey: Istanbul, Cappadocia (and perhaps Konya), and the Ephesus area south of İzmir on the Aegean coast. It may also stop at the western Mediterranean coast (probably Antalya), and/or Pamukkale.

Transport will be by plane and motorcoach. Plane is quicker, but motorcoach allows you to see more and make more stops.

—It probably ends on Day 8 at the airport in İzmir or another city, from which you can fly home or on to your next destination. Many travelers choose to return to Istanbul for several more days in Turkey's largest, most interesting city. Your tour operator can help with hotel and airport transfer arrangements for these extra days.
