The Blue Flag (Mavi Bayrak) designates beaches that have met the European Union’s high standard for cleanlinessand sanitation both on the sand of the beach and in the water.
Turkey has nearly 400 beaches that qualify for the Blue Flag, placing it high among European nations in the number of certified-clean beaches.
The Blue Flag is a helpful symbol of high standards aimed at and met, but remember that things can change: the certification takes place once a year, and many things can affect beach sanitation in 12 months.
Use the Blue Flag as a guide, but not a guarantee.
