You can do it too! It’s the perfect way to spend a gap year between other pursuits.
English is taught in all Turkish schools, but it is not always learned by all students. Many find they need additional training to get the best jobs so they attend private classes or hire English-language tutors.
Istanbul, Ankara and other major Turkish cities have numerous English-language schools that hire TEFL teachers, especially native speakers.
If English is your native language you have a huge advantage, and are already halfway to teacher-dom. All you need now is teaching skills. Luckily, teaching can be learned.
It’s called TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language), and it’s what I learned to do at Peace Corps training in Austin, Texas. You needn’t go to Texas, however. Courses are offered in cities
It worked for me!
You will probably need a work visa and residence permit.
