Eastern Thrace, the land between Istanbul and the Greek and Bulgarian borders, is served by one slow day train from Istanbul’s Halkalı station (4 hours to Edirne), and the slow Istanbul – Sofia Express at night.
Considering that there is very frequent bus service (every 15 minutes) between Istanbul and Edirne from Istanbul’s Büyük Otogar, it makes little sense to go by train.
