Galatasaray Square, half way along İstiklal Caddesifrom Taksim Square to Tünel Square (), is the heart of Beyoğlu's boutique, restaurant, café and music club district.
This is not an area with a lot of hotels, and it is certainly not a tourist area. Rather, it's the heart of young, vibrant, active Istanbul, with student couples and professionals strolling along pedestrian-only İstiklal Caddesi, matrons shopping for clothing and accessories, business executives moving from the offices and banks to the British Consulate-General just off the square.
There are more hotels in nearby areas such as Cihangir, Tepebaşı and Tünel Square.
