TCDD Restaurant/Dining Cars

Last Updated on May 2, 2019

Some Turkish State Railways (TCDD) overnight trains haul restaurant/dining cars (Yemekli Vagon), open for dinner in the evening and breakfast in the morning.

Alcoholic beverages used to be served in the evening, but it appears that now only non-alcoholic drinks are served.

Operation of the restaurants is contracted to Ray Restaurant, a division of the Beşler company. Here aremenus with prices.

When I take a TCDD sleeper train, I usually have breakfast in the dining car. It’s a traditional Turkish breakfast of white and yellow cheese, sliced mild beef sausage (served cold), black and green olives, sliced tomatoes and cucumbers, bread, butter, fruit jam, honey, and coffee or tea, for TL10.
