Tepebaşı is the district just west of southern İstiklal Caddesi in Beyoğlu ().
Here you’ll find the nostalgic old Pera Palace Hotel, the Palazzo Corpi (formerly the American Embassy/ Consulate), the Italian and other consulates and, just to the north, the British Consulate-General.
Tepebaşı was the prime lodging area for Europeans visiting Constantinople from the late 1800s until the mid-1900s. Each of the few hotels still here has something specialto recommend it.
