Taxis in Antalya, Turkey

Last Updated on February 26, 2020

Taxis are a comfortable, convenient and speedy way to get around Antalya, but distances in the sprawling city can make for high taxi fares.

If you have several travelers in your party, and/or a lot of baggage, a taxi is the way to go. (Or you may prefer a private transfer.)

If you are alone, want to save money, can handle your luggage, and don’t mind the mild discomforts of public transport, Antalya‘s tram and minibuses are the way to go.

Antalya Airport is 10 km (6 miles) east of the city center(maps). Here’s more information on airport transport.

Taxis are useful for rides both within Antalya and to nearby towns and points of interest.

For example, if you want to visit the wonderful ancient mountain city of Termessos, north of Antalya, you could rent a car for a day, go through all the paperwork, take the risk, and buy expensive fuel, or—perhaps for about the same price—you could hop in a taxi and have a professional driver whpo knows all the roads take you to Termessos, wait as you explore it, and return you to the city later. For two, three or four travelers, this can be acost-effective way to go.

If you are traveling with one or two other people, this may not be too expensive a method of transport. Traveling alone, you may save money by going to the bus terminal(Otogar) north of the city and taking an intercity bus.
