Antalya Airport Transport, Turkey

Last Updated on July 28, 2022

After landing at Antalya Airport, you may wonder about the best option for getting to the city which is 10 km ( 6 miles) east of the city center.  There are many options, including tram, city bus, shuttle bus, taxi, and private transfer. Read more below to see which option is the best for you.

AntRay Tram

Taking the tram is one of the easiest options if you don’t have large amounts of luggage. There is a tram stop directly from the airport. The only thing you will have to do is purchase a ticket or card to be able to make use of it.

The T1A is the only tram departing from the airport. It ends at the Fatih station, which is near the Antalya Zoo. There are two airport tram stops: Domestic Terminal İç Hatlar and International Terminal Dış Hatlar.

If you have to get to the city center, Kaleiçi, you will need to get off at the Ismetpaşa station. The Ismetpaşa station is also the main stop where you can transfer to the T2 tram line, bringing you closer to the coastline. The ride from the airport to İsmetpaşa takes about 50 minutes, and to the otogar (bus terminal) about 80 minutes.

City Buses

The tram station and the bus station are both conveniently located nearby. There will be numerous labels identifying the stations, so don't panic if you can't see them right away. Below are the two city buses that are most convenient to popular tourist destinations.

Antobüs 600

This bus follows a similar route as the tram, passing the domestic and international terminals. It also passes by the Mall of Antalya, the Double Tree by Hilton, as well as MarkAntalya Mall before finally ending at Antalya Otogar.

If you want to get to Kaleiçi, you can either get off at the Burhanettin Onat Station and make a transfer to the T1A or T1B tram, or you can get off at the MarkAntalya station and make a transfer to the T1B and T1A at the Muratpaşa station. Both will bring you to the city center.

Bus 800

The 800 Liman – Hava Alanı bus connects Antalya Airport with Lara Plajı and Konyaaltı Plajı, Antalya’s two largest and most popular beaches. If your hotel is in one of these districts, this may be the bus for you. It also passes Düden Waterfall, Fener Beach, Inciraltı Beach, and finally ends at Burhanettin Onat.

ANTALYA CARD

Once you land at the airport and reach a tram or bus station, you will see large kiosks where you can buy your Antalya card or tickets.

Antalya card Once you buy this reusable card, you will be able to use it as much as you want by filling it at kiosks located at tram and bus stops. If you are staying in Antalya for a couple of days, it’s the best option. Although the deposit fee for this card is higher, it can be more convenient since it is refillable an unlimited number of times.

Disposable (Kullan-at) card Once you purchase this card, you will have two options. You can either pay a smaller amount enabling you to use it twice on public transport, or you can pay more to use it four times.

Havaş Airport Bus

Havaş airport shuttle buses connect Antalya airport‘s Domestic Terminal with the city-center 5M Migros AVM Car Park on the western edge of the city near the Kemer bus stop. Buses operate about every hour from 6 am to 10 pm, with two earlier-morning buses (4:30 and 5:30) as well. It takes approximately 45 minutes, longer in traffic.

Taxi

The moment you get out of the airport, you will immediately see tons of taxis lined up in front of you. Taking a taxi is the first option you can use. Although it is the most comfortable option, it’s of course more costly. If you travel on a budget and don’t want to spend too much money on transportation, I would definitely recommend you to go for other options, which are either the tram or the bus. See the airport taxi’s site for more information or to make a reservation in advance.

Rental Car

If you plan to take day trips outside of Antalya, you might find it convenient to rent a car.  Be aware that if your hotel is in Kaleici, it can be difficult to navigate the small alleys, and is only convenient if your hotel provides parking.
